And I forgot to mention that to bring up the Spotlight search as a VoiceOver user, you can do a three finger swipe down on any home page. Just don't touch the status bar first because then you obviously bring up the Notification Center.

Spotlight search can do more now than just search for content on your
device. Check out this blog entry to see how to use Spotlight search to
search the web, iTunes, the App Store, look up movie times and more.

You can also use the handwriting mode to launch an app no matter where
it is. Make sure handwriting is in your roter, on a home page, turn your
roter to handwriting, start typing the app you want to launch, use a two
finger swipe down to move through the list of hits and then double tap
on the app you want to run.

I haven’t gotten around to figuring out what spotlight is all about
yet though it pops up all over the place. I didn’t want to turn it on
without being fully cogniscent of how it operates and what kind of
information it shares or gets hold of.

By the way, if you use spotlight search to search for an app, it will
tell you if it is in the folder.it <http://folder.it> will come up
under the applications heading it will tell you the name of the
application and then it will tell you the name of the folder that it
is in.

Go to settings, general, usage, manage usage then delete Downcast
and then re-download it from the app store. That should resolve
everything. Starting fresh usually resolves everything.

It may help to narrow the search if you get Siri to open the
        programme for
you then, on closing it, look what page you are on. On that
page,
somewhere, perhaps obscured from your finger view, will be
        that icon. Move
your finger slowly as you look and also try flicking across
        the screen which
may give you an idea where it is. It could be that it is in
        fact inside
another folder. Mine was when it happened to me.

Don't despair, I've had it happen to me and I did eventually
        find it!
