I turned it on when I was setting up things the way I like them, but when it
began not responding to me I turned it back off. Neither setting seems to
make a difference.

Have you checked whether Reduced Motion is turned on? If not, go to
Settings, General, Accessibility and find it. If it is off make sure you
turn it on as this may help. Once again, this one should be "On" and not
"Off".

Subject: Strange behavior from my new iPhone 6 Plus

Hi all,

On Saturday afternoon my husband and I went to the AT&T store and he bought
my belated Christmas present...a new iPhone 6 Plus! The lady who assisted us
was very helpful and knowledgable and got my phone up and running with no
problems. Once at home, I began adding apps, changing settings to my
preference, etc., etc. There was one brief episode of my screen not
responding when I attempted to do anything such as double tap, swipe, flick,
or scroll, but it straightened out when I rebooted the phone. On Sunday
morning...when I received a phone call...there was no way I could answer it
even though the caller ID spoke the information...because there were no
buttons on the screen. When I would attempt to unlock the phone by either
pressing the home or wake/sleep button, it would say unlock but there was no
button to tap on. As a matter of fact, the screen appeared to be blank! I
had no trouble using a bluetooth keyboard, but the screen is quite baffling.
Once in a while it will act normally but...most of the time...it's as though
it were blank. My husband says he can see the icons but they didn't appear
to work for him either when I turned off VoiceOver. I reset settings to the
factory defaults but that made no difference. I even wondered if the screen
protector...which I purchased yesterday...might have been the problem but
don't see how it could. I thought by turning screen curtain off that it
might help...and also making the screen a bit brighter than zero
and...though they appeared to help for a minute or two...it reverted back to
its strange behavior.

I didn't mean to write a book - just wanted to get all the pertinent info
for anyone who might have a clue what's going on. Thanks to those who have
read this far, and I appreciate any advice or suggestions anyone might have.
Does it sound like I might have to give up my new best friend for another
one? Thanks in advance for any help!

Ann
