Because the app developer is in Europe, most of the helpers are in Europe. I
have never read anything about how the helpers are compensated, but they do
have a funding stream at least until September. I believe that at some point
there will have to be a revenue generating model, perhaps similar to
Taptapsee.

I thought some of the other previous apps had sighted volunteers out back to

Finally had a reason to use Be My Eyes. I wasn’t sure what temperature the
thermostat was on, so thought I’d try to use the app. Got someone in about a
minute or so, and had my question answered quickly. It was pretty awesome.
Seems to be getting more popular, because there are now 112,000 sighted
users and almost 10,000 blind. I just wanted to talk about my first
experience with it.
