The funding stream covers the infrastructural requirements like the server, and also the team who are developing and tweaking the app. I am a huge fan of this app and this concept, it's a very practical use of technology. The guy who had this idea actually popped up on this list not long after coming up with it. Perhaps others who have been on the list for a while will remember. The response he got from a lot of list members was quite negative, saying that they would just use FaceTime instead of some random sighted person. But he didn't give up and now he has over 100,000 volunteers and over 10,000 users. Just goes to show that if you believe in your dream enough, you should pursue it.
