Are you thinking of something which would you let you unlock your door with your iPhone? When I think of a door bell I think of a very simple device which has a button and a bell/ringer. A person comes to your door, pushes the button and the bell dings or dongs or rings or whatever so you know somebody is at your door. Such devices traditionally were wired, but many wireless options are out there now which have a button that has a battery in it and it sends the signal to the bell/ringer wirelessly. This does, however, not require WiFi connectivity, it's just like a remote where a signal is transmitted by one device and received by another.
