iTreadmille is very good and doesn't require gps to work. It's been
discussed here several times, so maybe an archive search might help.

Does anyone know if these apps work on a rowing machine? That's the only
real exercise I get apart from walking to work and back and I would love to
use it for that. It wouldn't have to mind being stationary and only using
the accelerometer to gauge performance.
