If you have the latest Apple TV, it will have an HDMI port, the rectangle one
that feels like a USB. You can do what I did and buy a little box that connects
to the port and then use a patch cord to run the audio to your RCA jacks on the
stereo. The RCA jacks are the pair of inputs. This little box plugs into the
wall for its power, and I got this one on Amazon for about $30:

When you get it, set the switch to the middle position for audio output to the
RCA on the little box. This box is an HDMI switch. It's used for those times
when you have an input on a tv, but no way to get the audio to your stereo.
Enjoy.
