I've been able to hear well enough on all the iPhones I've had over the years, meaning the 4 and the 4S, as well as the 6 and 6 plus. The plus may have just a little more of a base sound, but I'm able to hear and understand on both the 6 and 6 plus without any problem. I think my sister in-law is getting the plus, as my brother said it was too big for him. They each have an iPhone 4 right now.
