Not to mention that having everything in your IPhone is the same as having all your eggs in the same basket. If you have a problem, you have nothing left. Don't get me wrong, I love my IPhone but, if it is broken or I have any hardware or software problems, I can still get on with every day life and my GPS is a necessity. If it goes down, I can go to my IPhone until my Trekker is repaired.
Now, I think everything that could be said about stand alone GPS has been said and, since this is an IPhone list, I'm out of this discussion.
