I agree with what you are saying. I also have both a Mac and a Windows laptop. I use both for different reasons. It is hard at first when you start learning how to use a Mac. You need patience and perseverance. It is worthwhile once you can use the Mac.

I have a Mac, and I have an old windows XP PC. I still use the PC, because there are things I can't do it all or can't do efficiently with a Mac. Among those are braille embossing and scanning of books. There is a substantial learning curve with learning the new Mac. So, I think it is good advice to look at your usage and why you want to change. Simply saying that a Mac gives you accessibility out of the box does not cover the whole story. Max are generally considerably more expensive than an equivalent Windows machine. And there are pluses and minuses to depending on Apple for your screen reading needs. If they break something with voiceover, you may wait a long time to get it fixed, because your requirements are mixed in with the general population's requirements. And we are a small minority. Yes, compared to everyone else, Apple as a mainstream company has done way more for accessibility. Mac might be the way to go. But it is not, at least in my opinion, a slamdunk.

- If you run Windows on your Mac, you can use open book. However, you cannot use it on the Mac OS, as there is no open book for the Mac.
