there is a drawback to this option. If you have music in your itunes
library that comes from music folder that you have created the organizer
will move them from where you originally had them and place them in folders
as the poster described.

Media folder organized or not?
Hi Keith,
If you check the box, iTunes puts each artist in a folder. Within that, each
album is in a folder, and each track on the album is numbered. If you have a
mix CD with multiple artists, you can either give all the tracks the same
album artist, or declare the album a compilation. If it's a compilation, the
album will be placed in a Compilations folder. If you choose an album
artist, the album will be in that artist's folder. I have this check box
checked and find it useful, but if you have your own system for organizing
your music, you may want to uncheck it.
HTH,
Anna

Hi,
Seeking advice on the merits of checking the box to keep iTunes Media
folder organized, or not, in iTunes Advanced Preferences.
I'm not sure what this does or doesn't do.
Thanks in advance, Keith
