Hi, Interesting. I've never had file names of artists, albums, or tracks truncated. Also, whether music is copied to your iTunes folder depends on a different check box, called "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library." If this check box is unchecked, iTunes doesn't copy music when you add it to your library, and only the folder you designate as the iTunes folder gets organized by iTunes.
