Making apps accessible isn't always as trivial as you make it seem. It
depends a lot on the nature of the app. It is true that the more thought
and work you put into an app upfront with respect to accessibility then
the easier it'll be, but it isn't just as simple as labeling a few
buttons and objects. I'm not saying this should be an excuse not to make
an app accessible. I just don't think it serves any purpose to
trivialize the effort involved.

Hey guys,
No, I have not tried using other areas of the app, as the frustration of VO crashing twice annoyed me enough to not use the app since you do not need to use it for a lot. Prior to the latest update I was able to log in to my I heart radio account through the app, and using safari on the mac I was able to accomplish a few things. I have yet to be able to use the to do list or shopping list as there seems to be no way to delete items, I tried for hours one day but for some reason when you hit delete on the shopping list it did not delete the items rather it moved these items to the to do lis and vice versa. I know on the browser the move and delete buttons are right next to each other so it must be a design flaw with VO in the browser. Very disappointed in Amazon making no effort what so ever to make apps and products accessible, it says a lot about the company. They are even trying to weasel their way back in to NYC public schools with their inaccessible devices, but the NFB will be
protesting them next week. Why can’t Amazon just get on board, from what I
understand making apps accessible takes little to no time, and making products
accessible does not require a lot extra. moved them to

I am using internet explorer to access the echo site and didn't have any
issues. It was a little sluggish but workable. Don't get me wrong, Amazon
still needs to do a lot of work in the accessibility area.

Subject: Re: Latest Amazon Echo Update Awful
What browser are you using to access the Amazon echo website? I have a
friend who has tried with Internet Explorer and Firefox using windows, and
hasn't been lucky at all. I do know someone else using Windows who has had
success. I did it on a Mac, and it was hit and miss, but I did finally get a
few things done. I certainly wouldn't do it on a regular basis. It's
unnecessarily weird. But then Amazon's website is unnecessarily complicated.

I'm using an IPhone 5s and don't have that issue with the Echo app. It
does take almost 30 seconds for the next screen to come up. You can
also use the web site to make your changes which is a lot easier. Just
got the echo a few days ago and love it. It is a work in progress and
I look forward to seeing where it goes.
