Are you sliding the phone or do you pick it up and put it down again? It did say in one of the help screens not to slide it.

It did say if you need more detail, tap some other button, which doesn't show as a button one can tap. Bak, is the only tappable button I can find. If you don't get the verbal descriptions of the calibration positions at first, and you hit the close button, go to settings and double tap on calibration, then double tap on the close button in there, and you will get good instructions on how to calibrate the app. I only did a couple quick tests, but it isn't bad.
