I use the native email program for my GMail account. A few weeks ago, I got a message from Google, telling me that the GMail app would give me a higher level of security than does the native email program , and that if I continued to use the native program, it was, supposedly, at my own risk. I don't know if the app really does offer a higher level of security, or if this is marketing hype, but I decided to take the risk and continue with the native email program.
