Hi Mary,
Turn the rotor when you are on the passcode field and check your typing style, the hard reset may have defaulted back to standard typing and of course if you are used to touch typing you may think something is not working since when you touch the numbers in standard typing you would have to double tap or split tap each number to enter your passcode. I did the fource power off and restarted the phone. It came up with voiceover on. I have a passcode, so I needed to enter that prior to the phone unlocking. Unfortunately, when I move my finger on the screen to find my digits, nothing happens. Voiceover is still dead to my gestures. So I think there maybe something more wrong with this phone then I initially thought. I just did the force power off again, and we'll see what happens. But if I can't enter my passcode, I think I'm due for a trip back to the T-Mobile store. What fun. Hold both home button and on/off button for about 8 seconds until the phone is shut down. I check this with the mute button which will vibrate if not off when you mute and then unmute. Let the phone sit for about 30 seconds, or as happened to me on my 6s came back on its own, and then turn back on. It worked when absolutely nothing else would. If it comes up with no VO, remember that Siri can turn it on for you. reggie & Lex On Oct 21, 2015, at 1:39 PM, Mary Otten <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > wrote: My iPhone is well and truly locked up. I can't even power it off using the regular method of holding the power on off button. The only thing that works is the home button and the power on off button to unlock and lock the screen. But no voiceover gestures are working at all. I have turned voiceover off and on, which often helps when I get a lock up. But this time, turning voiceover back on just announces whatever has the focus, and that's it. Double tapping, swiping, etc., yields zero. And I have forgotten the method to force the phone to close. I think it involves the home and the power button but I don't recall. Can someone refresh my memory please. Thank you.
