Hi Kimber,

I really can't believe this, for one, the 5S is still being sold so obviously 
they must activate them. Like I said, somehow I have a feeling some Verizon 
customer service agent doesn't know what he or she is talking about.

I did a bit more investigating ... I called Verizon and the tech support person 
told me they no longer will unlock/activate any iPhone older than an iPhone 6. 
That totally surprised me. It seems like such a rip-off and designed to force 
people into buying new phones. But at least I know the person from Sprint 
probably wasn't making stuff up.
