Rob,

For the $400 I was talking iPhone 6S 128 Gb on 2-year contract. Unlocked from
Apple it is $850 US.
According to Google just now 619 british pounds converts to 956.85 US Dollars,
so yes, it is less expensive to buy it unlocked in the US.

Only $400?... sounds like highway robbery over here, £619 and still given £
stronger than $ just now, though not checked latest
exchange rate, but feel like $800 or so.

I'm talking off-the-shelf, unlocked and not on contract.

Alan,

Ultimately it’s entirely your decision whether you want to spend $400 for a new
iPhone 6S 128 Gb. Personally with Apple Music and
being able to easily have all your music in the cloud I don’t think a 128 Gb
iPhone is really all that necessary until you take
thousands and thousands of pictures or if you plan to do major 4K video
recording. But either way, the 6S is a great phone and the
main difference to a 5S which is what I upgraded from is the fact that it is of
course bigger, the processor is noticeably faster,
touch Id is virtually instant and of course there are differences like having
the power/sleep button on the side instead of the top
and the rounded edges in back, also the camera sticks out just a tiny bit. I
have done a few KNFB Reader scans and so far have not
found much of a real-world diffierence in OCR quality between the 5S and 6S
even though it has a better camera. I think there is a
point after which higher megapixels just don’t make a difference for simple OCR
and of course things like faster shudderspeeds and
so on are irrelevant.

Sieghard

Ok, I think I understand now. You are not talking about an external keyboard
that slides out the side of the iPhone. It sounded to
me like that may have been what people were talking about in which case I would
of said, I think I'll just hang on to my 5s instead.
On the other hand, let's talk bang for the buck. My 2 year agreement is up
with AT&T and I'm elegible for a new iPhone. My
question is a simple one. Is there that much difference between the 5s and 6s
or would I just be better off holding off for another
year and wait for the iPhone 7? What sayith all of you?

A built-in keyboard? No. It has the same keyboard that the fives had. The 6s is

it is more responsive, I suppose because it has a faster processor. I have not
noticed any of the issues that others are talking
about. I do have an old four s. And when I go to use that, it seems positively
dinosaur like.

So, does that mean the 6S has a built in QWERTY keyboard?

Hi I to have noticed the 6S is very sensitive to touch as at times I do not
even lift my finger while typing and characters get
entered also I have noticed that it is tough at times to type a 1 and Q and P
as it almost feels like those characters are not fully
on the screen. It is weird.

The 6S appears to be much more sensitive to touch than earlier models.

This took me a while to get used to.
