I'm pretty sure this is just a focus issue with Facebook and VoiceOver. I am also using a 4S with the latest version of the Facebook app, and you can read comments, it's just more difficult now. Double-tap on your post, and flick through it; if your flicking jumps you from your post to the share or write a comment box, flick back up to your post and do a three-finger flick up. Then try to touch your post with your finger and then start dy a one-finger flick to the right.
