Hi. I think that was its main purpose, though I've also found that some people who would rather access content in a liniar form which is how most Windows screen readers work, also like this ability for a time until they're more used to the left to right orientation. I worked with one guy who refuses to use the normal form of navigation, as he refuses to adapt to the different way of moving about the screen. It works for him, and that's what matters.
