Hi. Until two days ago, I have not paid the vertical navigation any atention. I have had an IPhone for two years now. I have never used the vertical navigation until tuesday or wednesday this week. I use it in ILike2ReadPro to navigate from the top of the screen in ILike2ReadPro to navigate to the content of a specific page, I need to say that I am a braille user, therefore it has really solved a lot of difficulties for me. It can also be used, if you have pressed a bookmark and will go to the page the bookmark are placed on, or more interesting, if you search for something in the text, the vertical command will lead you directly to the search result, again I have only tried it using braille.
