Thanks for all the responses, guys. Wow, I didn't know there were different definitions/calculations of gigs.
I installed and attempted to use battery doctor yesterday, and it seemed to help clear some cashed files, but that's about all. Ultimately, I think I'll just need a phone with a greater storage capacity, which is frustrating because it does feel rather early to be upgrading from a 6.
