Hi Chris, Before we take this off list, I suspect others may have issues too.
It sounds like you separated the stand from the reading aid. The stand needs to be bent over in half and the end with the long tab sticking out is pushed into the slot so that the stand forms a shelf with the strip of microsuction tape on the top. It is like you are opening up the stand so that it is about two feet long, then bending it back at about the 1 foot mark, then bending it again at about 18 inches and pushing that tab into the slot. When you are done, the metal legs sit on the table and the rest forms a nice flat shelf for the phone. There is a half circle notch in the shelf that you place the camera a little in front of so the camera is pointing down on your document. Now, to use the stand and the reading aid together, before setting your phone on the shelf, the metal legs fit into holds in the end of the reading aid so that the reading aid is now the bed for your book or document to be on and the phone will point to about the middle of that platform. If that doesn't help, let me know. Hi folks. Did anybody else go for the Fopydo Bookreading aid during the crowd funding campaign? I received mine, but must be missing something really simple in the assembly instructions. I can't figure out where my phone goes. Rather than clutter the list with back and forth posts, can I talk to someone who has this thing off-list? I'd like to describe how I have this thing assembled and situated, and hopefully figure out what part is confusing me. Currently, I have the foam pads extended out to the sides and rotated so the foam is facing the stand. The surface between the foam pads is flat on my desk. I assume what I want to scan goes between the foam pieces. . Two metal pieces are rotated so their ends contact the table, and they support a hinged piece of cardboard, currently slanted at about 45 degrees. The metal pieces are in front of me. The cardboard hinge is at the rear.. Instructions on the Fopydo Website talk about a shelf for my phone to sit on, but all I find is a notched slot maybe four inches in length, and the end of my phone definitely doesn't fit in it. That whole surface is on about a 45 degree angle, so my phone won't stay put if I try and rest it there either. Signed, perplexed, even though I got a good mark in high school geometry class years ago.
