My understanding is that NLS is committed to providing books and machines at
no cost. Eliminating the digital players would mean that anyone who wanted
to access NLS materials would need to have the means to afford a phone and a
data plan. For that reason, I don't see it ever happening.

I am not doubting it will happen at some point in the future. Really and
truly if the feds were smart they would get an iOS and Android application
soon and stop producing those expensive stand alone players. I am sure
