I believe it's $19.99 for 2 gigs and $49.99 for 6 with another option in the
middle. I read a tweet yesterday though that someone said her phone no
longer said to call customer service to enable tethering and that it just
worked. I don't know if she meant that she had already done so and the phone
never received the hit saying tethering was OK until yesterday, despite
adding it, or if she meant she had gotten it for free. If I decided to go
with one of the plans for only a week and shut it off, what might the
prorate be expected to be? I'm trying to decide if I should just buy the
ITether service and go that route or if turning it on for a week and then
back off is better. What I don't want to do is reset my contract for 2 more
years over a week of wanting wifi because that will move my upgrade date
back.

Hi, there was a recent judgement passed against Verizon that they had to
provide tethering for free. Whether the other big name cell guys will
follow suit is anyone's guess. So, right now AT&T still charges for
tethering services. Many people with jailbroken cell phones use an app
called PDA Net and then they can tether on their existing data.
On another note, I agree that the new data shared plan that AT&T is
so-called offering is a joke. It will end up costing us more than what we
pay now for our 3 phones if we switch to it. Unlimited minutes? Big deal.
I get that already thanks to Google Voice. So, it's not an attractive
deal for me. Now, if they only charged like $9.99 per extra phone then it
would be worth considering, but not right now.

Hi all.
How would I set my iPhone 4S as a personal wy-fy hotspot that I can
connect
my Mack to? I have wy-fy at home but not anywhere else. Any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
