Hi,
A better analogy is using your iPhone 4s as an iPod. But yes, if you have
upgraded, you basically have another iOS device that is now WiFi only. You
can use any app you want on it, nothing needs to change. Just keep your
apps on it as is, and continue to synch as you had in the past.
For me, I use OOTunes for streaming, Voice Dream Reader for Books, and the
Music app for Music.
