The two headsets I use now, one being Aftershox, have no noticeable lag
to me. The other is a cheap off brand that just cost me $20. I have had
headsets in the past that had some serious lag, but nothing recently.
IMHO, I think in some cases it's due to aggressive battery savings. In
other words, the headset will shut down the speakers when it doesn't
think it's receiving any input and then wake the speakers up when
something comes in. You'll notice this with VoiceOver but not when
streaming something. I can't check this out myself, but someone who has
a headset with a serious lag could start streaming something and then
see if they see the same lag with VoiceOver.

hey siegard and all, the dilay that there are there are every bloutooth
headfones. i had pay about bletooth head fones of jabra move and thre
are was a dilay. it was terable. very hard to find head fones that there
is not dilay with VoiceOver.

I posted a week or two ago that I had spent some fairly serious
money ($200 Canadian) for a Plantronics Backbeat Sense bluetooh
stero headset. I bought it from Amazon and it arrived fairly quickly
and I have used it off and on for about a week or 10 days now. To
sum it up, I am returning the headset tomorrow, I already initiated

the return shipping label.
The main reason why I am not keeping it is the aweful lag with
Voiceover. This is a fairly newly released Bluetooth 4.0 device and
the delay is horrible. Voiceover doesn’t even keep up if I swipe
quickly across the icons on the home screen and typing anything is
just a pain in the neck.
Apart from that I really like the headset, it is very comfortable,
battery life is good and the sound quality is impressive for a
Bluetooth headset. It also has nice controls and I like the feature
that it senses if you take it off and it automatically pauses
playback, but that lag is a total deal-breaker. In addition to that
it sometimes seems to randomly disconnect even if my iPhone is only
a few feet away.
So it’s going back and I’ll use the money and then some to buy a new
Festool cordless drill, at least I know that with that I am getting
the best there is.
