I'm not sure how the reduced motion setting will have an affect on this issue, but it's in Settings -> General -> Accessibility. It's right between a contrast setting and an on/off label setting. It reduces the motion of the icons on the screen as you move your phone around.

Hello all,
thx for the answers.
I have just done some tests with the given responses below

but,
1. I don’t understand what the Reduced Motion setting is and I can’t find
it.
in the Accessibility section on ios.

2. the problem is not happening when I pair my focus 14 blue with my
macbook
3. when I type with my focus 14 blue in e.g. the notes app on iOS, voiceover
said quicknav off, without any reason I can think off.
So here: how can you turn on/off quicknav of a braille display as hardware
keyboard?

And here are some settings in voiceover:
1. accessibility > voiceover> braille:
braille display output: 8 dot
braille display input: 8 dot
braille screen input: 6 dot
equations use nemeth code: off
show on screen keyboard: off
turn pages when panning: on
braille translations English unified
alert display duration : 1second

this is te end of the braille section.

2. further in the voiceover-settings something that can have influence:
typing style : touch typing

3. and in accessibility > keyboard > hardware keyboards:
key repeat: on
sticky keys: off
slow keys: off

I donut know if some other settings could affect this situation.

It would be so nice if someone could compare this with his own settings and
doesn’t have the described problems with the focus braille display.
Or, all other suggestions are very welkome.

Thx in advance,
William

However, we don't yet know that it is. It sounded more like an issue between
the Focus14 Blue and iOS.

I don't know if any of the below will assist, but these are my thoughts and
observations.
What Braille Input Mode are you typing in? i.e., 6-dot, 8-dot, or
contracted? (I use 8-dot, myself.

I don't (really) encounter the problem you mention. A thought I had was that
it might just be the shortness of the width, i.e., 14 cells; and it's easy
enough to re-route the cursor to your writing position again. (It is, of
course, one character behind where you are.)

There's also a Reduced Motion setting (I believe it's in the Accessibility
Settings). You could try toggling it to the opposite state of what it is
when you have the problem.

Subject: focus 14 blue braille display and iOS 9.3.2

Hello all,
Since more then 1 year, I have a focus 14 blue braille display.
Until now, the device has never worked as expected with my iPhone 6. I have
already solved some issues/problems with changing settings but there is
still some annoying problem.

When I am typing in a mail or any other text area, with the braille-keyboard
of the focus, all goes fine.
But, it happens often that the braille display (and also the cursor) is
jumping to the beginning of the text I have already written.
This happens when I stop typing. I think it happens randomly , not after a
specifiek key I press on the braille display.

Is this still a bug in iOS or could a setting solve this problem?
Many thx for the answers and perhaps solutions.

Kind regards,
William Windels
