Hi Terri. You need to turn on audio description in the Netflix app itself. The description option in the Apple TV settings is for iTunes. I don't remember how to turn it on. I do remember it's under language in NetFlix, and you use the cursor selection wheel on the remote to get to it, but it's not very obvious where it is.
