Hi Tracy, There definitely is a one year warranty even if you didn't buy Apple Care Plus. If you take the phone to an Apple store they can do a diagnostic on the battery which will tell them if there is an issue. Have you tried to calibrate the battery by discharging it completely until the device turns off by itself, then plug it in for a good long time (best over night) and then use it again until the phone shuts off on its own. Charge the battery up one more time over night and see if this helps. If it doesn't help then definitely a restore would be another way to try and correct this behavior. I would make an iCloud backup or, even better, an encrypted backup in iTunes. Then restore the phone and set it up as a new phone. Use it for a day or so and see if the battery problem is gone, if so restore your backup and hopefully this won't also restore the battery problem. If it works fine at first and then it goes back to what it has been doing after you do the restore you have to restore it one more time as a new phone. This means redownload all your apps, change all the settings the way you want them to be, sync any music or ringtones you may have etc. It can be a few hours of work, but it can definitely be the best thing to do in some situations.

Shutting down at 30% or 20%. Far short of 0. The other week, I actually read my battery draining as it was plugged in. Last Month some of you may remember it was freezing up on me. Little to no responsiveness. I could not enter in my passcode to unlock the phone. Oddly enough, at that time, both my iPad and iPhone were acting that way for about 48 hours. Onto my warranty question. What is the general warranty. I’m struggling with Apple’s website to inter my serial number and captcha. This phone is about 7 Months old I believe. Wasn’t sure if there was a year warranty. Either way, any tips on what I may do? Would a full restore possibly help? If so, can I restore from a back up, or do I need to treat it as a new device? I think I read somewhere, if it is the battery, a new one is $79 at the Apple store, but I don’t know if that includes them working on it.
