Here's another trick, I just tried it out. Below is an example, not perfect,
but good enough for a
general overview.
What I did: all tables and chairs, in the west, conform to a certain ratio
of height, from
tabletop to chair seat. I pulled a dining-room chair out from the table, as if
I wre going to sit on
it. I placed a newspaper, folded into quarters, which is the normal way it is
folded when not being
read, and put it on the chair seat. I put my phone on the table top, as near as
I could judge,
roughly, central to the paper beneath. i slid the camera end of the phone over
the edge of the
table, maybe to half way and took the shot. Here it is! No judgement needed!

I think it goes off at the bottom because that is where the paper is folded, a
very loose fold, more
of a curl. Basically, there are loads of ways to get the KNFB Reader to work
for you, even with
unsteady hands or a bad sense of distance.
