Yeah, thankfully I discovered this way earlly on when getting my phone. I did try that switching back and forth between touch and standard typing and oh man, was it a pain. That and like I said, it made having secondary keyboard layouts unnecessary. Banging out something in Spanish or even being able to type my last name and even if I want, I can insert the accented o into my first name without wasting so much time the other way.
