Hi Dan, Apple Accessibility has confirmed on multiple occasions that screen curtain has no effect on battery drain. Adjusting the brightness does though. I always have my brightness at 0%. Even if I need to turn it up to get sighted help if VO breaks badly enough, which hasn't happened in many years, now you can tell Siri to increase the brightness for you, so I can't think of a reason that a totally blind user shouldn't have their brightness at 0% and automatic brightness adjustment disabled. Screen curtain is a great security tool, but it has no impact on battery drain. Jonathan Mosen Mosen Consulting Blindness technology eBooks, tutorials and training http://Mosen.org
