If you're happy with the app, there isn't really any need to get a Kindle. I have one of the cheap Kindle fire tablet that I picked up for $40 a few months ago. It's OK. For that price, it's great. But the app there doesn't really do anything that the Kindle app doesn't do. So unless you really want the voices that are available on Kindle device, I don't see why you'd want one, unless you just like Messing with gadgets. Frankly, the reason I purchased the Kindle fire was it somebody told me a particular voice was available. It happens to be my favorite female reading voice, and it's not available on Kindle on iOS. Unfortunately, I found out that that voice is in fact not available on the Kindle fire. Oh well. One thing I do like about the Kindle device is reading books in Russian, because I like the voice there. But that's hardly a common thing for folks in this country. Mary
