Well, I'm using AT&T, and have an iPhone 4, but am no longer under contract with them.

I will be considering the iPhone 5.

I do not have the unlimited data plan with AT&T, so might think about another carrier.

I'm in the central Texas area, and would be interested in knowing what others using a different carrier think about their service.

Hello Sieghard
Thanks for this. But even on that basis I had to pay that
$1132 for my 4S 16GB which is then $482 more than what you
people pay.

Hi Fanus,

Sorry if I may have implied this, but definitely not! The
iPhone 5 16 Gig is
$199 with a contract. I actually haven't seen the prices for
buying the
phone from Applke unlocked and without contract, but since
the prices are
the same with contract as before I also assume the full
retail prices will
be the same as they were for the 4S which means $650 for an
iPhone 5 16 Gig,
$750 for an iPhone 5 32 Gig and $850 for an iPhone 5 64 Gig.
My guess is
that the iPhone 4S 16 Gig which will be offered at $99 on
contract will be
$550 and the iPhone 4 8 Gig which is free with a contract
will be $375 which
is the same as the 3GS 8 Gig last year.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hello Sieghard
Do I understand you correctly that if you buy an iPhone 5 16
GB without a
contract you pay just $199. If this is indeed correct then
someone here in
South Africa is making a lot of money out of us. At the
current currency we
will pay $1132.

Hi Ben and List,

I think the 4S 16 Gig which on contract will be available
for $99 is
definitely an attractive option, you can save $100 over the
16 Gig iPhone 5
which is at $199. Now, is the iPhone 5 worth an extra $100?
Well, if I came
from a 3GS or 4 I would probably say yes, having a 4S 64 Gig
I feel the same
as Raul, there are just not enough hardware reasons for me
to upgrade at
this time. Instead I may actually consider buying an iPod
Touch 5 again,
this way I can see how I like the larger screen size and now
that the iPod
Touch gets SIRI and has a 5 MP auto focus back camera which
is actually a
better camera than even the 4 if I understand this correctly
it's definitely
worth considering. It would be the device I'd use at home
for audio books
and other stuff or even for a long flight it would make
sense with 40 hours
of audio playback. I also like the thought of the wrist loop
and the
reverseable 9-PIN connector. Of course I will probably wait
until I know
what the deal is with the iPad Mini which is expected to be
announced around
mid October.

Regards,
Sieghard

I'll be buying a new phone to replace my 3GS, but I'm not
sure yet if it
will be a 4S or a 5. Obviously the faster CPU and the form
factor are nice
things to have, but I'm not sure if those will justify the
price difference
between a 5 and a used or even new 4s.

Cheers,
Ben.

The iPhone 5 sounds pretty nifty. However I am perfectly
happy with my
4S right now so will be keeping it for a bit. My wife is
considering
the jump from the Galaxy Android to the iPHone 5 and she's
eligible
for the upgrade right now. So, we'll see. If I get
desperate enough
I'll have her the the 5, then I'll give her my 4S, and
keep the 5 for
myself. I love that AT&T uses sim cards.

Hi all,
So, what do you all think of iPhone 5?
How many of you are going to upgrade?
For me personally, since I am upgrading from an iPhone 4,
I think it
is worth the upgrade.
What with Siri, the faster processor, three microphones
LTE and maps
features-thigns you won't get on the 4 with IOS 6.
What are peoples thoughts?
