I have to agree with Cristopher here. If you look at the voices
for NVDA, from Vocaliser, or on android, or anywhere else, they
are much smaller, and sound different. Apple and Nuance can be
blamed just as much, equally.

Unless you know that Apple has input into this whole deal, or you
can prove that the exact same voices are used elsewhere and don't
have this problem, I don't think you can blame Apple for the
crappy voices. Where Apple could improve would be either to
insist that nuance up their game, which would be nice. And they
could, spoken from a non-programming point of you of course, open
it up, so that we can use voice is obtained through other
sources, such as voice dream reader.
