Hi, in that case, both do it. I know turning off sounds definitely does it.

It's turning on the mute switch that brings the screen locked anouncement back, not turning off VO sounds, just in case anyone was confused.

Thanks,
Ari

OK, fair enough, since I never turn sounds off and from what I read on this list not many blind users do I didn't realize that Voiceover still said screen locked when sounds were off. To me it is however not a good exchange to turn off all sounds just so I can hear "Screen Locked", once you get used to the phone just making the sound it's fine as far as I am concerned. It's just like when they introduced the "Dock" announcement whenever you touch an app in the dock, to me that is superfluous, but others may like it, but I have gotten used to it.

Hi Sieghard. You're sorta incorrect about the screen locked announcement. If he really wants the announcement back, he can disable sounds and it will come back.

Hi Simon,

The "screen locked" announcement is no more in iOS 10 and there is no option to reenable it.

Hi, where do I find the option to lock the screen automatically, and where do I find the option that when I press the on button on top of the phone to lock the screen it says screen locked?
