Ari and others,

I finally solved the problem this morning and your hunch was actually pretty
close to the mark. The Windows 10 machine wasn't seeing the Apple Mobile
Display driver. It wasn't listed in Device Manager, in spite of the fact that I
uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. However, as you say there are articles
about how to do this and, with a bit of hunting for the driver, I was able to
reinstall it from my hard drive.

Something else that might be happening is that the Apple Mobile USB Driver may
need to be updated. I'm not entirely sure how to do this, as I'd spent about an
hour or so on the phone with An Apple customer rep, and eventually got bumped
to a senior rep, but they finally figured out that an outdated version of the
driver was my problem. You should be able to find an article somewhere out
there on updating this driver.

I hope you get things resolved soon. I know how frustrating it is when you feel
like you've tried everything to solve this issue, and nothing works.

Thanks,
Ari

Also try different USB ports. If your computer has USB 3.0 and USB 3.0 ports
you may want to try a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port. I am not saying
this will fix it, but I recently ran into a situation which had nothing to do
with iTunes. I was trying to create a Windows 10 installation on a USB thumb
drive. I used the Microsoft Media Creation Tool and for some reason creation of
my Windows installation always failed when it reached somewhere between 60 and
70%completion. I did some Google searches and came across a post on a forum
where somebody ran into the same problem and they solved it by using a USB 2.0
Port instead of a USB 3.0 port. I also had my USB stick which was a USB 3.0
stick, plugged into my laptop's USB 3.0 port and as soon as I switched it to a
USB 2.0 port and ran the Media Creation Tool again the Windows installation
went perfectly fine and completed without a problem. I learned in almost 30
years of using computers that sometimes even things which may not seem like
they'll make a difference in fact do make all the difference.

Sieghard

I believe that it is. I can't say I know for certain but your question is quite
valid. I'll try using the original lightning cable that came with my phone to
see if that works.

This is a really stupid question, but at least it's worth a shot. Have
you rebooted your iPhone recently? Try rebooting both your computer
and your iPhone. If that doesn't work, I would give the accessibility
answer desk a call to see if they can troubleshoot the issue. They
might be able to do something on their end.

Here's my situation. I'm using an iPhone 6S, iOS 10.0.2 connected to
a PC running Windows 10 Anniversary Update with iTunes, latest version
which I believe is 12.5.1. I recently had some work done on my PC
and, after I got it back, I noticed that iTunes doesn't see my iPhone
as it used to.

When I connect my iPhone to the PC's USB port I am asked whether I
want to allow this device to access photos and I say yes. However, my
iPhone does not ask if I trust this PC with choices of Trust or Don't
Trust, which it used to. I've done a repair of iTunes and, this
evening, I even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, with no success.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I could try to get iTunes
to recognize my iPhone again?
