Hello, everyone. It might be of interest to a number of you that the latest release of the Gmail app for iOS devices operates somewhat differently with VoiceOver than did previous versions, and based on the testing I have done, the app has improved for VoiceOver users. In earlier versions, if one wanted to delete a message from the message index, one would have to check a checkbox next to its header information and then press a "Delete" button. Now, double-tap and holding the button corresponding to the unwanted message places the app in a "Select" mode. The user can then move down the list of messages and simply double-tap the unwanted ones; the "hold" gesture needs to be used only on the first undesired message. Then, once the "delete" list has been compiled, the "Delete" button can be activated. There are other ways to get rid of messages, but I don't want to make this message overly long. There is also an "Undo" button which evidently allows the user to take back a number of actions. I have not tested this function yet. Most gratifying is the possibility that the bug which prevented text editing of the body of a message may have been squashed, at least if the user is typing on the on-screen keyboard. I haven't tested it with a Bluetooth keyboard yet.
