Okay, here's my thoughts. I have sent plenty of feedback to Apple. I was on the beta program with iOS 10, probably 9 too. I sent them pretty good ideas, like being able to edit text in braille screen input mode, being able to spell check, that is, move from one error to the next and correct them using the rotor, using braille screen input to input notes, using braille music, into garageband... And of course, the bug reports. The mail freezing bug after sending an email, that's embarrassing! And now, the focus bugs with moving from message to message in iOS. That's been here for months. I reported it all, many times. I received the silence treatment, though, including in waiting on bugs to be fixed and features implemented. But I didn't stay silent as well, for long. I decided to jump ship, and landed on another ship, which is actually moving towards land! I got a Google Pixel phone. It's fast, has great battery life, and even a headphone jack! Is this revenge against Apple? Shoot, maybe, but it's what we Americans call voting with our dollars, and that's what I did. The Pixel isn't some $80 phone, either. It's Google's own phone, around the price of the iPhone. Does it have bugs? Yes, especially if you use a bluetooth or USB keyboard with it for a long time. Can it be used just like the iPhone? Yep, it sure can, and that's what I do. Does it take a little getting used to? Yes, but after a week or two, it works fine. Guys, don't feel like Apple is the only way. It's not. If you don't like being walled in, a prisoner of Apple's guidelines on what you can do with the device you paid money for, if you don't like the way you can't talk with the developers of the screen reader, if you don't like Siri, or having to use Safari, then Android is waiting. iOS or Android isn't really about accessibility anymore. It's about choice, and all blind people have that choice to make. Now, don't do what I did and get a $80 tablet to try Android on. Make sure the thing you get runs android 7, or will run it soon. Don't get a low-speck device and expect it to run well, it's just like a computer, which is the beauty of it. If you know how to get old low-speck things working, then you can, but if you don't, you'll need to spend a little more money.
All that to say, Android isn't 2.3 or 4 anymore. It's 7, and has grown much over the years. It's not inaccessible anymore, and is usable. It's a choice now, like Mac or Windows. The only reason iOS is seen as better is because it was first.
