I interpet the instructions as follows.. 1 remove the old sim card from your phone. 2 install the new sim card into your phone that is from your new cell phone carrier. 3 follow the setup process after installing the new sim card. 4 make a backup copy of your phone. 5 restore your phone to manufactory settings. 6 restore your phone using the backup you just made.
