Hi Pablo, That depends on your lifestyle. The Apple Watch series 2 is waterproof and for me that was a reason to buy it instead of the less expensive series 1 because I do like the idea of tracking my workout while swimming or to have the watch on while I’m taking my dog for a swim in the lake or river in the summer, while I’m out canoeing, kayaking or windsurfing etc. In fact, if I had my iPhone in a waterproof case like a Pelican case and if I had a waterproof bluetooth headset or even just by using my Apple Watch as a speakerphone I could go windsurfing and somebody on the shore could give me directions/instructions etc. I also fell in the water during a hiking trip once when a section of riverbank caved in and while this was well before the era of when you had a cell phone with you at all times, I was wearing my braille watch at the time and it was a goner afterwards. My Apple Watch would have been uneffected. Furthermore, as for bluetooth speakers, I live in an area where people do outdoor activities all the time and I think it’s pretty cool that I can have a speaker that can sit in the rain during a camping trip and you can still enjoy listening to an audio book or some music. I know a lot of people don’t go camping or hiking when it’s raining, but up here we often go on multi-day trips and it may be perfectly nice when you leave but not so much after a day or two so I think it’s perfectly justified when companies make these waterproof or water-resistant devices. Lastly, while you may have never dropped a phone in the water or a toilet, you have no idea how many people do drop their phone into the toilet and if it’s not waterproof you are, well, shit out of luck I guess would be the right phrase here 😀 Oh, I forgot the shower, I really enjoy being able to bring my Outdoor Tech bluetooth speaker with me when I have a shower and stick it on a shelf where while it’s not directly under the shower stream it’s nonetheless damp and get the occasional splash and I can still listen to my audio book.

I think it is a feature that lack of real use. How many times we have drop a watch, a cellphone, a speaker into the water? I don’t know all of you, but I never ever drop things into the water, and before I lived where there are canals of water, where passing boats, such as in Venice, and never I dropped anything in those canals. So, I really don’t see phones, watches, speakers, microwave, or vacuums water prove as something usable.
