Yes, as I understand it now, it would only right itself if I had the
time and energy to make it priority to ensure that all my mail was
addressed to me at gmail, but even then (with the provider I have) it
might not work.
I have a number of mailing lists in which I have as little involvement
as possible right now but do want to pick them up again when
circumstances change. (It's a real pity to me I can't talk through the
situation with anyone at Google, so far as I'm aware!)
Anyone who has further advice for me or can help me to achieve what is
needed to put my situation right, please get in touch directly.

Also, all messages where the sender's email is displayed in the "From" field I can use
the Jaws 18 key combination Jaws Key+Shift+R to respond directly to the sender instead of to the
list. In your case since no email is listed that also sends a reply to the list. Jaws says
"replying directly to sender", but it then shows the viphon email address.
