Well, I have to say though that, much as I like my iPad Mini 4, I do miss the ability to snap an SD card into it, and the ability to simply copy and paste files from my laptop onto it. I've used Windows and before that, DOS laptops, and being able to transfer files from one place to another is simple and straightforward on those. It does bug me that I need a specialized app such as iTunes or something else just to get some music on my iPad Mini 4. When I got it, the web research I did indicated that accessibility was better with iOS than with Android, and I know people with iDevices and there's a tremendous amount of support for VoiceOver online. I've found a lot of useful apps for it. I do like it quite a lot, but the next time I'm in the market for a tablet or a phone, and I get info that Android is equal or better accessibilitywise, I may very well jump over to it.

Pablo,
Since you seem to be the only one having such headaches, sending tons of Email to Apple, etc., could it be your attitude that is the problem rather than Apple's closed OS?

I didn't say you paid $100, I told you I buy it from you for $100. You wouldn't need to buy Tylonol any more and when something doesn't work for a business then they just cut their losses and get rid of it. But seriously, Pablo, you knew exactly what you were getting into, you had iPhones before and you knew Apple's way and their policies as you call them about keeping the OS closed. Of course the OS now is as open as it has never been, they make many SDK's available to developers and more will follow. But I don't want to continue argueing with you, you have your opinion and I have mine and I really like my iPhone so it's all good. Just let me know when I should send you the $100, I'll even add a $20 gift card for the Google Play store, their apps are so cheap that it will be good for the rest of your life *smile*. It's good that Apple at least pays all the developers fairly, it's like a subsidy from Apple so they can afford to develop their apps for Google.

Take care,
Sieghard

Hi Sieghard,
No, I didn't paid for the iPhone $100. I paid a lot more, and it is wwhy I have been mad in the last 4 years. However if you are a business man, you should know that you will sale it for at least what you paid for it. I have paid around $7000. The accounting cost, plus the whole problems with IOs, plus the whole limitations, plus the tylenole that I have to buy due to the headings that this iPhone gave me. So, the economic cost of this iPhone is too high, and the benefits received are the same in the last 4 years. It is why a lot of people are moving from IOs to android. Economicly is not a good desition. Just see the cost of IOs apps, and the cost of the same apps for android. Just see how many headaches you and me have taken due to the software policies of apple. Look how many other things you would be able to do if you didn't buy an iPhone, that do the same things that the iPhones in the last years. Not a huge difference, just in the bugs, now we keep the same bugs than years ago, but we added some new.
Maybe you should sale your iPhone too, for other $7000.

Christopher,

I have no idea, when you search for something in Google something is bound to pop up, I was just pulling Pablo's Android headphones because it's so much fun to tease him, criticise Android even just a bit and he's charging to the rescue. Good thing he didn't buy a Note 7 or he would have had to wear a Nomex suit and carry a fire extinguisher in his backpack. Anyways, I'll stop it now, it's fun for a bit but enough is enough. Pablo, I give you $100 for your iPhone 7, sounds like it's just lying around there and from the way you make it sound it's just a piece of junk so it must not be worth a lot, right and for that $100 you can probably buy 2 Android tablets. *smile*

Take care,

Be interesting to know if things have changed at all. I know I'm happier with Android now then I would have been just a year ago.

Pablo, did you know research shows that iPhone users are happier and
much funnier than Android users? It’s because Android users are
usually so frustrated with their phones that they have no sense of
humour. There are even reports on the web to proof this:

Sieghard,

Sorry man, but you made me laugh a lot. You said “But Pablo, don’t say
it is better because it is not.”. Because it is not? why is it not?

Because you said so?

Have you used an android phone with android 7.1 ?

No right?

Ok, I have more knowledge to say that it is better. If you try an
android phone for months and you come to the list and explain why you
believe IOs is better than android. I will not laugh, I promise.

But come on man. If I am saying that for me android is better,
obviously I am saying why I believe than android is better than IOs.
It is better because I don’t have the software policies that IOs has.
More over I have found better accessibility in apps that exist in IOs
and android. I have found in android a lot more flexibility, something
that IOs doesn’t know what that means. I have found a lot of
customization, another word that IOs doesn’t know what that means.

Leave the list?

No way, I like to bother you, you know I have nothing else to do
during the whole day, and during the whole week, during the 365 days
of the year. If I don’t lieve the list is for three reasons; because I
have IOs devices, because I train people with IOs, and because I like to bother you.

Again, all of this are my opinions, and I am basing my opinions in my
experience and expectations.

I wish I had kept the email you sent me a few months ago when you
became active on this list again after you left for Android a year or two ago.
Anyhow, I guess Android must have become amazing in those few months
and it sounds as if you will once again sell your iPhone and leave
this list to join the Android side. I’m glad Android and the google
Pixel are such good alternatives to iOS and the iPhone, without
competition nobody would be very motivated to do better. But Pablo,
don’t say it is better because it is not. It is simply different and
Android appeals to some people more than iOS and vice versa.

Sieghard

How a company is going to be in business if they don’t male profit?

It doesn’t make sence. Yes, a lot of people is leaving IOs and are

Well, apparently not too many people are moving away. Apple is making

android devices. Most of them make no profit. Companies don't stay in

don’t even think there are phones available higher than the five

When they introduced the enhanced camera in the iPhone six, they
realized that sixteen gigs just wouldn’t do if people wanted to take
pictures, I mean, I’m still amazed that they’re still offering the
32 gig devices, especially in the iPad, but again, this is just the
smaller issue. How many phones out there are getting more and more
waterproof and dust proof, and they don’t seem to have a problem
with an SD card slot, in addition, the OS security could be plugged
to avoid that sort of thing. Fact is, I think that Apple is
guarding it’s closed platform so people are forced to get their
content from iTunes and App store. Open up the file system and
you’re looking at an easier way to jailbreak, and Apple couldn’t
have that. Regardless, I do think that Apple should open their eyes
when it comes to expansion, if only to make it easier to connect to

Android devices that allow for expansion come rumbling in. Just a

   Hi Victor,

I am not sure if Apple could keep their walled garden concept and
offer SD card expansion slots. If you allow people to introduce
media on an SD card then the OS must have access to the folders or
maybe it would be more accurate to say that Apple would have to give
users access to what is on the SD card and that would possibly
defeat the purpose of the closed nature of the platform. Any SD
card, even the newest and fastest, would also introduce a lot of
latency in how fast things get loaded and I think this all goes
against what Apple wants to achieve. I think actually that even some
high-end Android phones are moving away from that, but I might be
wrong, just something I heard. Does the Google Pixel for example
have an SD card slot? Lastly, having such an expansion slot on an
iPad is one thing because there is probably plenty of space, but
having it on an iPhone is most likely not very practical as there
hardly is any space left as is and of course making a highly
waterproof or water resistant device would probably be much more
difficult if the device had an SD card slot Personally I have no
problem with Apple offering internal memory, I totally agree that
nowadays 16 Gb doesn’t get you far, but I wonder how many people
still buy 16 Gb devices if they can get a 64 Gb device (4 times the
   space) for $100 more.

I don’t agree. Granted, the 300 dollar price tag is nice, but not
   with the memory it’s offering.

I think the 32 and 16 models of any device is outdated, unless it’s
got an expansion slot for an SD card.

Frankly, I’m completely surprised that Apple hasn’t embraced this
concept, since it would enable them to lower the amount of ROM
memory on the device, and allow people to expand according to their
budget. Alas, it would seem that Apple is destined not to ever get
   the message.

       Apple Inc. <https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/AAPL:US> introduced
a revamped version of its most popular-sized iPad at the
cheapest price yet, and a shiny red iPhone 7, whose sales will
       help to combat AIDS.

Apple unveiled a new 9.7-inch iPad with a brighter Retina
display starting at $329, and a special edition red-aluminum
finish iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, part of the company’s
decade-long partnership with (RED), which contributes to the
Global Fund to fight HIV and AIDS.

“Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers
have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS
through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod
nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup
of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple
Watch,” Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said in a
       statement <wlmailhtml://news/terminal/ON6020MEQTXJ> Tuesday.

Apple is the world’s largest corporate donor to the Global Fund,
contributing more than $130 million, the company said.

Apple is expected to reveal a significant upgrade to the iPhone
       later this year.
Cupertino, California-based Apple last year unveiled a new
iPhone which reignited sales growth in the Christmas quarter
after a year of declines. Those falling sales came even as Apple
introduced a cheaper handset in March in an effort to spur
growth in emerging markets. The only sales growth in the 2016
fiscal year came from the services business, which includes
Apple Music and the App Store, and the other products category.

Apple shares rose less than one percent to $142.55 at 10:24 a.m.
in New York. Earlier they hit a new intraday high of $142.80.

The new iPad starts at $329 for 32GB with Wi-Fi and $459 for
32GB Wi-Fi plus cellular. It will be available to order starting
March 24 in the U.S. and more than 20 other countries and
regions. The iPhone (RED) models will be available in 128GB and
256GB models starting at $749 from March 24. Apple also
announced new storage capacity for the iPhone SE. That 4-inch
display model will now be available in 32GB and 128GB models,
doubling the current capacity and replacing the previous models.

Other product launches Tuesday include a new app called Clips

that helps people combine video clips, photos and music that can
be shared through social media and messages. Apple also said its
Swift Playgrounds iPad app, which helps students learn to code,
is available in five additional languages: Japanese, French,
       German, Spanish and simplified Chinese.
