Do you not have Interac email money transfer in the States? Here in Canada most of the financial institutions support this now, it does come with a $1 fee, but I can easily and securely send money (minimum of $10 and maximum of $3,000) to anybody, all I need is their email address. I just login to my online banking, start an Interac email money transfer, enter the person's name and email address (after the first time they are available for me to pick in a combo drop-down0) and then I put in the amount I want to send. I also have to specify a security question and the answer (the recipiant of course needs to know the answer)and I can send along an optional message. About half an hour later at most the person gets an email, they select their financial institution from a list and if I have that bank's app on my iPhone I can choose to either deposit via the app or to use Safari and the mobile banking site of my bank. I use Scotia Bank and have it set up to use Touch Id to log in, so I tap to use the app and continue, it prompts me to login using Touch Id, then I simply specify which account I want the money to be deposited to, type in the answer to the security question and confirm the deposit.
