Never-mind what I said about it being a graphic you cannot read, just tap the "emergency" button, then the "medical ID" button, and you'll be able to verify all the info you entered.

It displays your emergency contacts as "wall paper" on your lock screen, so they are always visible without anyone needing to unlock your phone. You *must* create new contacts with a first or last name of ICE <followed by an optional number such as ICE1 ... ICE2> Then the articles tell you to put the person's full name in the company field, along with a relationship description. This creates a graphic, so you yourself won't be able to verify the info is being displayed. And as someone said, this is part of the Health app, so I think the article's instructions I followed may have required you to do something in the Health app after you create these contacts.
