Wow! That was interesting. Lots of justifiably pissed off people. One of the comments listed the names of the folks involved in the company. Wonder what's happened to them since. In every case where a project I've backed has failed, I was never charged. Never had a project succeed at Kickstarter but ultimately fail to deliver. That's a very public statement of not being trust-worthy for those folks to have out there. I'd certainly insist on refunding people as best as I could and giving a full account of what happened if a project I was involved in failed.
I've had too much success to think of Kickstarter overall as a bad concept but seeing this does tend to chip away at the old optimistic view of human nature people pretty much expect from me.
