Hello, I have had some luck by turning off the light/flash first before trying to read the LCD display. I think the automatic light is brighter than the LCD display and therefore, It washes out and can't "See" the displayed numbers or letters. By turning off the light it creates the illusion that the LCD display is brighter and then it can see it. This has worked about 75% of the time.
