Jen, You might find this list helpful.
To quickly find the beginning of a particular emoji category; with the emoji keyboard on screen, if you touch just above the Home button you will find the 9 different tabs for each category. If you tap on one of the category tabs you should be brought close to the beginning of the selected category. If not, a few flicks left to right or vice versa should get you to the beginning.
