Oh believe me Sieghard, a wireless charging unit is definitely on my list. However, it's a very new market and I want to see how the proverbial dust settles before investing in yet more hardware equipment.

I would put one of these on my night table next to my bed where the iPhone is at night, one on my desk at work where I am sitting most of the day and maybe one in the living room or kitchen. This way if I put the phone on the charging pad in the evening I can use the Lightning headset while the phone is charging. I will have a fully charged phone in the morning, while I'm at work I can put it on the pad on my desk later in the day (chances are I'll still have between 50 and 80% at that point) and again my phone will be fully charged when I go home. If I need to charge it fast or if I want to use an external battery while I'm out and about I can still plug it in and just use a bluetooth headset for these occasions. I just think that being able to charge your phone while it's just sitting on the desk or the night table without having to plug it in would result in me having a fully or almost fully charged phone most of the time and personally I certainly doubt I would miss being able to plug it in and use a wired headset at the same time. For this same reason I would never have bought the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus since with it you don't have a choice. I simply took the unit into the Apple Store, along with my receipt of course, and they swapped it out. Before I left the shopping center, I tested it and it works beautifully. It turns out that she wasn't pressing it firmly enough into the port for it to completely engage.
